Supplier Relationships: What they do and what we do!

From our experiences, we have seen that the relationship between suppliers and buyers is critical to profitable jobs and continued growth for both sides.


Whilst this may be fairly obvious we have noticed that, in construction, long-term loyalty is usually seen as 'complacency' from the suppliers point of view. Hence why prices can and will increase if not monitored and checked every time.


We always say 'we don’t walk into a supermarket or get a home delivery and just hope the cost will be ok', or presume the cost ‘will be the same as last time’.


Before we buy goods we would usually know or find out the price, yet in construction, we see people buying materials without investigating the price, and instead putting their trust in the supplier being 'reasonable'.


Over the next couple of days we will provide examples of why suppliers tend to have ‘Price Creep’ and what KJB Procurement does to help both supplier and buyer, not fall into that trap.
